Wilson erased years of playoff frustration with a 54-44 win over Exeter to capture its first Berks Girls League championship since 2014 on Friday night at Santander Arena. Led by senior Laila Jones and a veteran starting five, the Bulldogs built a big first-half lead and held off a late surge to secure the long-awaited title.

Five Berks League girls basketball teams have qualified for the District 3 playoffs, with brackets now set. Wilson, Gov. Mifflin, Exeter, Oley Valley, and Kutztown will compete across three classifications, bringing strong postseason histories and key matchups into the 2026 tournament.

Wilson continued its team-first approach Wednesday, defeating Reading High 51-39 in the BCIAA semifinals at Santander Arena. Despite leading scorer Laila Jones being limited, the Bulldogs received balanced scoring from Laura Crocona, Ryan Leaman, and Kailani Hardy to earn a championship matchup with Exeter. Wilson never trailed and leaned on defense, composure, and unselfish play.
