Bella Super poured in a game-high 25 points and Gov. Mifflin led entering the fourth quarter, but WPIAL champion Canon-McMillan rallied late to edge the Mustangs 48-46 Friday in the PIAA Class 6A first round in Canonsburg. Super tied the game with under 30 seconds left, but the Big Macs answered with late free throws to end Mifflin’s season.

Kailani Hardy set the tone on both ends as Wilson defeated Conestoga 59-46 in the first round of the PIAA Class 6A girls basketball tournament. Hardy scored 18 points and held Central League MVP Ryann Jennings without a shot attempt in the first quarter, helping the Bulldogs build an early lead and advance to a second-round rematch with Cardinal O’Hara.

Wilson and Conestoga face off Friday at 7 p.m. in West Lawn in the first round of the PIAA Class 6A girls basketball tournament. The Bulldogs enter at 27-2, winners of Berks and District 3 titles, while the Pioneers are 20-9, Central League champs.
